Sydney Olympic Park Transport information

CityRail operates three types of train services to and from Olympic Park Station, Sydney Olympic Park:

  • Olympic Park Sprint operates between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Station at 20 minute intervals.
  • Direct services between Central Station and Olympic Park Station, weekdays only.
  • Major Event train services.

Sydney Olympic Park Sprint to operate every 10 minutes on weekends

From Saturday 24 February, CitiRail will be introducing a weekend service every 10 mins between Lidcombe and Sydney Olympic Park. Additional early morning and last night trains will operate outside this period.

Lidcombe to Sydney Olympic Park– weekends

The first service will depart at 6.13am. From 7.10am services will operate every 10 minutes until 10.10 pm. After 10.10 pm, services will operate every 20 minutes until the last service at 11.50pm.

Sydney Olympic Park to Lidcombe – weekends

The first service will depart at 6.21am. From 6.58am services will operate every 10 minutes until 9.58pm, services will operate every 20 minutes until the last service at 11.59pm.

Direct services – weekends

CitiRail will also introduce a direct weekend service from Central to Sydney Olympic Park departing at 6.37am, stopping at Strathfield at 6.51am and arriving at Olympic Park station at 7.01am and a direct weekend service from Sydney Olympic Park to Central Station, departing at 10.14pm, stopping at Strathfield at 10.24pm and arriving at Central station at 10.40pm

On weekdays, services will continue to operate every 20 minutes.

Railway track work

Track work on the Sydney Olympic Park railway line is scheduled for:

  • Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 November 2007
  • Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December 2007
  • Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April 2008
  • Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May 2008
Buses will replace all trains to and from Olympic Park Station.

Intercity Passengers
Intercity passengers from the Blue Mountains should alight at Lidcombe Station and change trains to the Olympic Sprint platform adjacent to Platform 1.

Intercity passengers from the Central Coast or Newcastle should alight at Strathfield Station and change trains for Lidcombe or change to the route 525 bus on the north side of the station in Everton Street.

 From Lidcombe station - 6min
 From Strathfield station - 9min
 From Central station - 22min
 From Concord West station - 15min walking.


Buy a ticket to Olympic Park Station
CityRail would like to remind customers to purchase return tickets to Olympic Park Station, this will save you time and money.Tickets to Homebush Station are not valid for Olympic Park Station and you will be required to pay an add on fare.

CityRail customers are advised that electronic ticketing gates are in operation at Olympic Park Station.
