OK the word is out and it is Official - Tony Hawk is coming to Monster for the Sydney Telstra V8 Supercar Event on the 4th and 5th December.

Due to 50,000 mad Swans and Magpie fans invading ANZ Stadium there will be a number of road closures implimented around Sydney Olympic Park that will effect Monster Skate Park. Here is a summary of changes.

This is turning out to be our biggest Holiday Camp yet!! With Campers from all over Australia Booking in PLUS International campers from Japan and New Zealand, the word is out there that Monster is the place to be these School Holidays!!

 

Monster announces a new BMX Session on Friday Nights from 9pm-12am starting Friday 4th June. The price of the session will be $12 which includes entry and the foam pit.

The winning photo with the most votes was from Stephanie Magiros, 2nd Prize to Michaela Davis-Meehan and the following people who voted won double tickets.

MONSTER@Sydney Olympic Park is running a Action Sports Photo competition to win tickets to see Travis and his travelling Action Sports Circus.

The new and improved street course got a test run tonite in the skate session with lots of positive feedback and suggestions.

We are working overnite and tomorrow morning to make the final tweaks for the street course to be open from 2pm.

The 'Official Re-Opening' will happen in the Saturday night session in conjunction with Thieves playing a live gig from 7.30pm plus a free sausage sizzle and lots of giveaways from the Monster retail shop.

The Indoor Street Course has not been rebuilt and will NOT be Open today Monday 26th April. 

 

Finally the chaos of the Easter Show is over! The fence surrounding Sydney Olympic Park has been removed, the cows have gone back to their paddocks and all the sheep have been shorn and the flying pigs have gone off to tour with Pink Floyd!

The VERT Ramp and the Spine ramp is open with a portable plaza in place while we are rebuilding the street course (with a few changes).

We are working night and day to get the street course open and as soon as it is up and running it will be updated on the Web. Hopefully this will be today or tonite! (Sunday 25th).

 

 

MONSTER will be completely closed on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th of April following the Easter Show.

MONSTER will re open on Saturday the 17th of April with the VERT Ramp, spine Ramp and a temporary outdoor plaza. The indoor street course and foam pit will not be open until Saturday the 24th April!

The Monster Indoor Street Course is now closed in preperation for The Easter Show

As part of our commitment to the grass roots development of Action sports in Australia, Monster will be running and supporting a series of skate and FBMX events thoughout NSW called 'MONSTER@Your Park' between February - November 2010. This will be a series of events that culminate in the Monster Cup that will be awarded at the MONSTER Birthday Bash in November.

We can announce proudly that the first MONSTER@Your Park supported event is the Stephen Dark Memorial BMX Jam at Orange Skate Park on Saturday 27th February, for more info on the event you can go to the Jam's Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orange-BMX-Jam/210230703582?ref=nf

The MONSTER objective is to create and encourage a platform of competition for both BMX and Skateboarding that helps take these sports into the main stream. Typically competition and events in Australia have been organised during Summer so as to not conflict with traditional winter sports. MONSTER recognises that Skateboarding and FBMX are no longer 'fringe' sports and want to give an opportunity to every kid regardless of their ability the chance to compete in regular competition.

The Monster Snowboard Team riders have been throwing down their stuff in the US and pulling out some great results in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, USSA Championships the REV Tour and the World Rookie Fest.

Congratulations to Jamey Foxton (13yo), Lauchlan Abbott (11yo) and Luke Russell (9yo) who were chosen by the team of VERT skate Pros to skate in the Monster VERT Demos at BIG DAY OUT SYDNEY 2010.

MONSTER is closed for the BIG DAY OUT 2010 Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd January

This Thursday the 21st January iSkate@Monster will be running FREE VERT skate clinics to encourage skaters to try, take up or improve their VERT! These clinics feature some of the best Pro VERT skaters in the world as coaches including Renton Millar (AUS) the 2009 World Champion of VERT, Dew Tour Skaters Jimmy Beck (AUS), Adam Taylor(US) and Jeurgen Horwarth (GER) plus Jono Schwann AKA Kid 540 (AUS).

Monster will be closed for the BIG DAY OUT on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd January! The GREAT news is that as part of BDO Sydney 2010 is a HUGE schedule of VERT Skate Demo's at Monster Skate Park featuring a star studded field of International skaters with a sprinkling of old school VERT and a glimpse of new school VERT.

World-class skateboarder Corbin Harris is calling local skaters to join the Flip Video^TM skating competition taking place at Monster Skate Park, Sydney Olympic Park on Tuesday January 19^th from 10am – 12 noon.

The dates for the MONSTER Birthay Bash for 2009 are the 21st and 22nd of November. For the first time we can announce that not only will this party go over two days but it will also incorporate comps for Skateboarding, BMX, Inline and Scooter. Events will be held for spine and street for each sport and an additional VERT Comp for Skate on Saturday night!

 

Monster launched the first residential camp dedicated to Action sports athletes for Skaters, BMX, Inline and Scooter Riders during the October '09 school holidays!

The Legend that is Steve Cabballero visited MONSTER for the BIG EXO Day. Under a perfect blue sky, Cab unleashed his bag of tricks including his signature 'cab 540'

MONSTER Skate Park is closed for Session One and Session Two on Saturday 19th September 2009. Monster will reopen at 6pm for the Skate and Inline Session.

Monster announces new Clinics and Camps for the July School Holidays. There are clinics every day for skate, inline, scooter and BMX. Monday to Friday there are 1/2 Days fully supervised camps, full day supervised camps and even a Residential Camp - a first for Action Sports in Australia. We have locked in our Scooter Sessions for 2pm – 6pm Saturday and Sunday every weekend. These are shared sessions with Skateboard and Inline.

Today Australian legendary VERT Rider Renton Miller visited the park to film a clip for the upcoming Dew Tour in the US.
