Congratulations to Jamey Foxton (13yo), Lauchlan Abbott (11yo) and Luke Russell (9yo) who were chosen by the team of VERT skate Pros to skate in the Monster VERT Demos at BIG DAY OUT SYDNEY 2010.
Prior to BIG DAY OUT 2010, Monster ran Free VERTS Clinics for any skaters who wanted to learn from some of the very best Vert Skater in the world! The team of Pro's were led by Renton Millar the 2009 World Champion of Vert , DEW TOUR Skaters Adam Taylor from America, Juergen Horrwarth from Germany, Aussie Skaters Nathan (Jimmy) Beck, Aussie legends of VERT Adam Luxford and Mick Mulhall and Jono Schwann from Victoria.
The Pros were then asked to choose a Skater that deserved the opportunity to skate at the Big Day Out Demo's. After a long discussion between the Pro's it was agreed by that three groms deserved the opportunity and the team from Big Day Out agreed - give them all a chance and let the crowd decide!
All three of the groms represented themselves extremely well taking the opportunity to skate with the worlds best skaters and elevating their own skating to a whole new level. Jamey Foxton busting out massive tweaked indy grabs, Lauchlan Abbott showing the Pros a never before seen trick ollieing off the top deck of the VERT ramp into the transition earning him the nick name DBL (Drop Bomb Lauchie) by the Pro's, not to be outdone little 9yo Luke Russell rolled in off the 25ft extension and soared to a massive 6ft air out of the coping with an indie grab sending the thousands of spectators into a frenzy and earning props from the Pro's.
Monster would like to thank all of the Pros for supporting the grass roots of skateboarding by running the clinics and choosing the groms for the Demo's.
