MONSTER@Your Park Series

As part of our commitment to the grass roots development of Action sports in Australia, Monster will be running and supporting a series of skate and FBMX events thoughout NSW called 'MONSTER@Your Park' between February - November 2010. This will be a series of events that culminate in the Monster Cup that will be awarded at the MONSTER Birthday Bash in November.

We can announce proudly that the first MONSTER@Your Park supported event is the Stephen Dark Memorial BMX Jam at Orange Skate Park on Saturday 27th February, for more info on the event you can go to the Jam's Facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Orange-BMX-Jam/210230703582?ref=nf

The MONSTER objective is to create and encourage a platform of competition for both BMX and Skateboarding that helps take these sports into the main stream. Typically competition and events in Australia have been organised during Summer so as to not conflict with traditional winter sports. MONSTER recognises that Skateboarding and FBMX are no longer 'fringe' sports and want to give an opportunity to every kid regardless of their ability the chance to compete in regular competition.

This Monster@Your Park series is organised by MONSTER and coordinated with the local community and Local Council to appeal to both the mainstream and  hardcore skaters and riders. Engages the local skaters and rider community by asking them to recommend ‘Monster to come to Your Park’ and is not meant to be a ‘glossy’ sponsor driven competition.


The Monster@Your Park Winter Series will engage the youth skaters and riders in metro and regional communities through;


Education - The Project FreeRide and iSkate accredited coaches will provide free skateboard and FBMX clinics to anyone interested including providing all necessary equipment and pads as well as coaching advice to participants who want to get ready for the competition


Encouragement – provide a supportive participation driven environment, where participants are supported to get involved in the competition regardless of capability


Inspiration – the Monster Team Skaters and Riders will provide a ‘free’ demonstration


Fun – there will be a number of fun activities included throughout the day with Prizes and giveaways and an award ceremony that encourages participation
